Services We Provide

Our speech-language treatment plans and goals are developed and implemented based upon your individual needs. Our speech-language pathologists provide individual and group therapy at our office, or if arranged, at the child’s natural communication environment (i.e. home, school, and daycare), as well as online via teletherapy.

Parent and caregiver involvement is essential for an individual's success.

We offer timely scheduling of evaluations. Evaluations are scheduled within 5-7 days of your initial phone call to the office.

We provide complete written reports. A full report is written within one week following an evaluation. Follow-up progress reports are written as necessary. They are shared with insurance companies, classroom teachers, doctors, etc. Our intent is to begin treatment sessions as soon as possible.

Teletherapy Services

Parents/Caregivers/Teachers are encouraged to observe and participate in therapy sessions. At the end of each session, the therapist speaks to the parent, caregiver, and/or teacher about the client's performance. We provide telephone calls and/or written communication to family members who cannot be present during therapy. We also offer programs for home carryover and generalization.

We offer family workshops and presentations to individuals and the community on ways to improve speech and communication skills.

Speech Therapy

Speech therapy is provided in a 1:1 environment. It is individualized to meet the client’s needs. Therapy sessions may be scheduled for 30 minutes, 45 minutes, or 60 minutes per session. The length of each session will be predetermined based on the needs of the client.

Speech therapy sessions may be play based and/or structured. Our goal is for our clients to become fully engaged in each session while working on their targeted goals.

Online Speech Therapy Sessions

In addition, Say What? Speech Therapy Services offers web-based virtual speech evaluations and therapy sessions for individuals and groups. Each session is pre-scheduled. The SLPs interact with the clients using appropriate therapeutic activities. Necessary materials will be sent to the client beforehand or made available during the session. Home programs are also available to allow for additional practice in between sessions.

Speech Evaluations

Evaluations are conducted in order to determine an individual's strengths and weaknesses in the areas of speech, language, oral-motor, and/or social skills. The assessment includes a parent interview, review of previous records including health, developmental milestones, prior assessments (if available), formal standardized measures, informal observations, play-based assessment, and behavioral observations.

Based on the needs and concerns of the individual being assessed, the evaluation will include:

Articulation- speech sound production
Voice- vocal quality, vocal use and abuse
Fluency- stuttering, cluttering, normal dysfluencies
Language- receptive (understanding), expressive (expression), and social skills/pragmatic (use of language)
Dysphagia and Feeding- swallowing function, oral motor skills, and oral sensory awareness
A comprehensive evaluation will include an evaluation in all areas of communication, formal or informal.
A limited evaluation will only include a specific area of concern (i.e. speech sound production).

After the evaluation, a written report will be provided with a summary of the results and recommendations for treatment.

Speech Screenings

A screening is a brief look at an individual to determine if a further, in-depth evaluation is recommended.

Social Skills Groups

Say What? Speech Therapy Services is excited to announce our social skills group program. Would you like for your child to learn how to initiate and interact with peers, express him/herself more effectively, and/or problem-solve situations independently? Our goal is to provide your child an opportunity to work on these skills, along with others, in a small group setting run by a Speech-Language Pathologist.

Topics we cover, but are not limited to include:

Making friends
Greeting others
Personal space
Non-verbal body language
Joining peers in play
Sharing Turn taking
Being a part of a group
